Congratulations JulieC for winning our very first Member of the Month Award.

This month's prize is an official TESG leather watch:

Thank you Julie for being a valued member of our group.

And good luck everyone for the December Award which is an official TESG Wall Clock:

If you have been on the site recently you will have noticed the latest research news involving a gene which may be responsible for SUDEP. We welcome this as a step forward to one day finding a suitable preventative measure for this awful condition and hope that this new path of research and discovery may herald a forthcoming eradication of it's devestating affects across the globe.

There is also a new protein discovery called PRG-1 which is found in the hippocampus area of the brain and seems to have a direct effect on the development of seizures soon after birth.

We understand that the Epilepsy Phenome/Genome Project (EPGP) are still waiting to hear from group members interested in taking part in one of the world's largest epilepsy studies.

They are looking for participants who:

1) Have epilepsy and also have a brother or sister with epilepsy

OR

2) Have seizures due to Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, Infantile Spasms, Polymicrogyria, or Periventricular Heterotopia. (No sibling required, but both parents must also agree to participate.)

The link to their post on the forum is here: http://www.theepilepsysupportgroup.com/epilepsy-research-f10/epilepsy-phenome-genome-project-epgp-t112.htm

Last but not least the current fun room activities include Word Association Game, Picture Caption Game, and a Jokes thread.

We look forward to seeing you
on the boards.

Best Wishes

The TESG Team
